On saturday june 12, 2008, i joined several other local photographers to evening trip around the city of knoxville, tn to make scenic cityscape pictures, learn new locations to shoot, and tips/tricks towards mastering the art of night photography. although i am FAR from professional, i felt as though (thanks to tom geisler and dee pinckard) it enabled me to hone and further develop my skills. practice seems to be the best way to make anything a profession. as i gravitate from amateur photographer to semi amateur photographer to one day a proficient professional photographer, it is the practice and mentoring you choose that shapes that future and dictates the degree and speed at which you will attain it. if you are looking to speed into photography, make sure you add tom and dee as stops towards the top.
